TERROIR AND VITICULTURE
The Altas Quintas vineyards are located in a very special terroir. They are located at an altitude of 600 metres, on a plateau that develops in a unique way, in the middle of the Serra de São Mamede. The altitude, the mesoclimate conditions in this area and the soils with medium production potential make this location so special. The vineyard is managed under an integrated protection programme. The Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and Trincadeira grapes for this wine were hand-picked from the best plots into 14kg boxes at the end of September. Transport was swift to the winery. The bunches and berries were sorted at the entrance to the winery.
VINIFICATION
Fermentation took place at a controlled temperature in Lagares. It was then aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, followed by bottling.

Intense ruby-coloured wine, with aromas of small red fruits, balsamic notes and a touch of toast. On the palate it is balanced and dense, with very elegant omnipresent tannins, lively and fresh acidity, and an intense and complex finish with lots of volume and freshness. It can accompany oven-baked dishes and game dishes with some complexity.
