TERROIR AND VITICULTURE
The Altas Quintas vineyards are located in a very special terroir. They are located at an altitude of 600 metres, on a plateau that develops in a unique way, in the middle of the Serra de São Mamede. The altitude, the mesoclimate conditions in this area and the soils with medium production potential make this location so special. The vineyard is managed under an integrated protection programme. The Verdelho and Arinto grapes for this wine were harvested by hand from low yielding, high quality plots into 20kg boxes during the month of September. They were quickly transported to the winery. The bunches and berries were sorted at the entrance to the winery.
VINIFICATION
Fermentation took place at 14ºC in a stainless steel tank, followed by 6 months in French oak barrels.
